Summiting Bukit Timah, Singapore's highest hill
Local tour guide in Singapore, Singapore.
I am a trail runner and certified nature guide who has climbed Bukit Timah more times than I can count, in every weather and every season. The hill is only 163 metres, but it protects more tree species than all of North America, and I never tire of proving that fact to sceptics. My hikes are honest workouts softened by monkey sightings, ancient dipterocarps, and the smugness of summiting a nation's highest point before breakfast.
Climb to the top of Singapore through primary rainforest older than the city itself. We take the quieter side trails up, learn why this small hill holds staggering biodiversity, summit the 163-metre peak, and descend past a former quarry turned tranquil lake. A genuine hike with a guide who knows every root and shortcut.
