Seoul palaces in hanbok, history in full colour
Local tour guide in Seoul, South Korea.
I studied Joseon dynasty history at university and worked as a palace docent before guiding independently. My favourite magic trick is watching guests change into hanbok and stand straighter as five centuries of history suddenly feel personal. We walk Gyeongbokgung's grand axis, catch the changing of the guard, and drink traditional tea in Bukchon's hanok lanes. History should be worn, tasted, and photographed, not just recited.
Dress in flowing hanbok and walk Seoul's grandest palace with a former docent. We time our arrival for the changing of the royal guard, explore throne halls and lotus pavilions with the dynasty's dramas retold, then wander Bukchon's hanok village lanes to a traditional tea house. Free palace entry in hanbok, unforgettable photos guaranteed.
