Katong food crawl through Eurasian and Peranakan kitchens
Local tour guide in Singapore, Singapore.
I am Eurasian, Katong born and raised, from a family that argues about sugee cake recipes at every gathering. My neighbourhood packs Peranakan, Eurasian, and Hainanese food history into a few delicious kilometres, and I have spent years eating my way along them so you can skip straight to the good stuff. My crawls are generous, unhurried, and full of the aunties and uncles who still cook the old recipes.
Eat through Singapore's most storied food neighbourhood with a Katong girl. We slurp the famous cut-noodle laksa, compare kueh from rival Peranakan bakeries, taste Eurasian sugee cake and devil's curry, and walk off each course past ornate shophouses. Six tastings, a century of recipes, and no room for dinner afterwards.
